All the boys have tasks to do, and here they are carrying bricks that will be used in the construction of 13 new shops that will front on to the main road.

The orphanage employs two ayahs who help with the housework and keep the younger boys clean. The older boys are responsible for washing their own clothes but the ayah's help the younger ones. Washing is done in the pond, although there is a shower that is rarely used.

The day starts with the call to prayer. The sun has not risen during the winter. The boys clean themselves in the pond before going to their prayer room.
